The ADVENUS project aims to improve and extend the offer of high quality, culturally sensitive open access e-learning resources to adult refugees between the age of 18-40 years of age and their trainers and teachers in EU countries. The project builds upon findings indicating that successful integration requires resources that take into account the refugees’ countries of origin, educational background, and family situation.
Early intervention is required whereby refugees need to build the basic skills that enable them to function in the host society. In this project the e-learning resources are trialed and validated so that they are inter-culturally sensitive to the needs of different refugee groups and to cultures of the countries in which they find themselves.
With this unique approach, the project ADVENUS contribute to the existing course market with innovative course content and practice. Adult refugees and their trainers and teachers need access to open on-line training resources to improve achievement in high-level basic and transversal competences in a lifelong learning perspective. The project promotes the Erasmus+ objective of equity and inclusion by addressing cultural differences faced by refugee adult learners. The Advenus project is a follow-up of the LIBE project.
